Road Safety Club
The Road Safety Club is formed in higher educational institutions to create awareness about traffic rules and safe road practices among students. It organizes activities like campaigns, workshops, and rallies in coordination with local authorities. The cell aims to promote responsible behaviour and reduce road accidents through student involvement.
OBJECTIVES:
- To motivate college students to understand the knowledge and practices of traffic regulations while travelling by bus, car and motor cycles etc.
- To bring awareness about safe road, safe speed, safe drive and safe vehicle.
- To bring awareness about the problems and difficulties caused due to road accidents.
- To utilize them as ambassadors of road safety to encourage and educate road safety to others in the society.
- To encourage the students for compulsory wearing of Helmet and Seatbelt while using Two Wheelers and Four Wheelers respectively.
- Creation of awareness on violation of rules / various offences like non- wearing of Helmets, seatbelts, Red Light Jumping, Over speeding etc.
- Explaining how road crashes happen using audio-visual aids such as photos and videos to take the message on road safety to students.
OUTCOMES:
- The constitution of the Road Safety Club at the district level created awareness among students about traffic rules, road discipline, and accident prevention.
- Students actively participated in road safety initiatives, developing a sense of social responsibility and civic awareness.
- The program strengthened collaboration between educational institutions and local authorities, promoting safer road practices within the community.
